02 -‘Introduction to DAW Recording’ - a second step
What is this ?
It’s an Introduction to DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) course, a course designed to teach you the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to record and produce music using a digital audio workstation (DAW).
Students will receive a Genius Move Audio Academy Diploma on completion of the course.
Limited to 4 students per class.
How long is the course ?
10 Classes will be 2 hours long each.
Next course is planned for Sat. 10th Feb , though other dates are available.
As the classes are small, do get in contact - I’ll do my best to facilitate you .
How much does this Course cost ?
Part A (due in advance): €375
Part B before Session 6: €375
Total Cost: €750
Do I need any gear ?
Ideally your own laptop and a pair of good headphones.
DAWs do share so much functionality that practically any DAW will do .
There is a free version of Pro Tools too .
Everything else we need is at my Teaching Studio
In Class learning is only part of the process.
To get the most out of the course Students will be expected to put some study hours in.
Think of this as similar to learning a musical instrument or even riding a bike - practice does make perfect!
So, a DAW you can practice on will be useful .
The first lesson involves getting everyone set up so we can talk about the gear requirements then.
Visiting Lecturers
As part of our learning we’ll include Free Access to visiting lecturers.
We’ll have Aidan Cunningham , an experienced Mix Engineer and Chris Walls a well known acoustician (Abbey Road, Rak etc )
These lectures, while Free for course attendees , will also be attended by others who have payed a fee.

Who can attend ?
Practically anyone, once you are over 18.
Ideally, you’ll have come in contact with music or some recording experience, even at home.
Maybe you’re thinking about a career in audio, or progressing your education- but can’t commit - this course is for you .
When does it start ?
10 Classes will be 2.5 hours long each on a Saturday morning.
Next class is starting on Sat. 25th of March.
If you can’t make that date, do get in contact and I’ll try and facilitate you .
Where is it ?
At my dedicated Teaching Studio in Tullamore, Co.Offaly .
